We are honoring moms who struggle - whose isolation, stress or fear of the effects of poverty and for some, fear of deportation even when legally here or in a legal process of adjusting status have left them unable to even leave their apartments or rooms to go outside.
MCHA works closely with moms and families to help them stretch their dollars. We apply to distribute every support program possible; currently we are able to help clear some utility bills, we distribute diapers, food cards, PPE, and help people sign up for income programs. Our policy work is undertaken with the twin goals of streamlining eligibility and applications for health and nutrition programs, and improving the quality of health care, especially for pregnancy and reproductive health and for those who shoulder a disproportionate share of the health burden, people of color. This year we have tote bags with canvas pockets (see above) that can be personalized with your recipient's name or initials, or left plain. These can be ordered alone for $50 or you may add your apron, potholders or other gift to be included inside the tote bag!
